Watch our short video of golf & sightseeing in Dalat.
The city of Dalat is located in the Central Highlands of Vietnam and is centred around a lake and a golf course, and surrounded by mountains, pine forests, lakes and waterfalls. It was developed as a resort by the French in the early 1900's due its cool temperate climate. Many reminders of its French colonial heritage still remain and is affectionatley called 'Le Petit Paris'. The fabulous Dalat Palace hotel is a great example of this, and is a landmark centrally located overlooking the lake.
The surrounding lands are particularly fertile, and produce an abundance of vegetables, coffee, and flowers.
Because of its history, special architecture, unique climate and beautiful surroundings, Dalat is a popular tourist destination with Vietnamese. It is like a cross between Vietnam and the French Alps.
But the local culture has also made it's mark, starting with the last emperor of Vietnam- Emperor Bao Dai- who lived here, and introduced the first golf course in Vietnam- now known as The Dalat Palace GC. There are also many places of interest worth visiting.
Whilst in Dalat there is also some notable sightseeing you just should not miss!
Check out the Crazy House, the Linh Phuoc Pagoda, the Truc Lam Temple and historic railway station.
